Join Janet Grojean & Karen See as they traverse Southern Italy! We start with three nights in Rome, exploring the glories of the Caesars. We continue to  Sorrento where we see the ancient ruins of Pompeii and the Isle of Capri before taking in the magnificent Amalfi Coast. In Palermo, we will visit a mountain retreat, the Abbey of Montecassino, founded in 529. Our time in Agrigento includes a tour and tasting at a local vineyard. We then spend three nights in Catania before returning to the U.S.

          Italy: Venice to Rome • October 12 - 23, 2014​ 

 

From the canals of Venice to the grandeur of Rome, this tour highlights the treasures of Italy. We begin in Murano, the center of the Italian glassmaking industry. We cruise along the serpentine Grand Canal to St. Mark's Square. We then spend five nights in Montecatini Terme, famous for its health spas. One of the highlights will be a cooking class with an Italian chef. From Montecatini Terme, we will take day trips to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Cinque Terre, and San Gimignano. Our three nights in Rome include the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum.

A Toast to Tuscany • October 16 - 27, 2014​

European Christmas Market • December 1 - 11, 2014

 

Christmas Markets in Europe bring the magic of the holiday season to life. City centers are aglow with festive lights, as the scent of mulled wines and gingerbread fills the air. We encounter Christmas market in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a medieval walled city in Germany and home to one of Käthe Wohlfahrt's Christkindlmarkts. In Strasbourg, we explore a Christmas market (since 1570) and are introduced to the historic "La Petite Strasbourg" quarter. We drive throught the Black forest to Austria. Salzburg delights us with the Mirabel Gardens, Mozart's Birth House, and the grand cathedral. Our journey ends in Munich, with a trip to Weihenstephan Brewery, where monks started brewing their own beer over 1000 years ago.
